There's 2 key differences to me this year vs the past, the rest is a lot of the same from team and fan each year.Rabidraider wrote: Sat Jun 06, 2026 5:51 am The pessimism is because Raider fans have been burned so often, most of are posting from burn centers.
But I am optimistic this time with 911 on speed dial....
We've been excited on changes, we should they are filling gaps, that happens ever year, unfortunately they've failed over and over.
2 Key differences:
Overall Staff feels youthful and modern and hopefully energized.
Mendoza.
The center I'll give it a .5 difference.

Excerpts from article:
"While highly-touted rookie cornerback Jermod McCoy has not been on the practice field lately, the Las Vegas Raiders expect that to change when the team returns from a summer break.
Speaking to the media for the alst time before training camp starts late next month, new Las Vegas head coach Klint Kubiak said Thursday that he expects McCoy to practice in training camp without going into a specific plan.
“It going to be moving target with him … but we drafted him to play,“ Kubiak said.
McCoy was not on the field during the Raiders’ two mandatory minicamp practices this week. He missed the last two OTA sessions attended by media members as well. He had been previously doing some things on the practice field. Kubiak said this processs is all part of the Raiders’ medical team’s plan for McCoy..
The Raiders traded up from No. 102 to No. 101 in a trade with the Buffalo Bills. The Raiders sent a seventh-round pick in 2027 to complete the trade to draft McCoy who tumbled in the draft due to health concerns.
McCoy was considered a top-10 talent and could become a true No.1 cornerback for a team that needs the help. He missed all of last season with a torn ACL. McCoy reportedly had a degenerative knee issue and he may need to have a surgery that could keep him out for a year. Reportedly, there are also a risk that if the surgery doesn’t work he could never play.
Reportedly, there are concerns that he may have a short career at best. Also, reportedly, there were many teams that had McCoy off their draft board because of the injury concerns. ESPN reported this week that five of eight teams polled after Round 3 said he was off their draft boards due to the health worries. That tracks to be more than half the league."
And this about tidbit regarding Nakobe Dean:
"Meanwhile, like assistant head coach Mike McCoy said Tuesday, Kubiak said there is no concerns about the status of new linebacker Nakobe Dean without going into specifics. He hasn’t been practicing in the offseason, but he ahs been working at the building. Dean signed a three-year, $36 million contract with the Raiders with $20 million in guaranteed money in March."

Players not signing their rookie contracts by this time of year is nothing new and certainly nothing to worry about.

Nope..... he would re-enter the draft. That's how the Raiders got Bo Jackson.

Wow, I thought they got rid of that loophole, surprised they didn't.chucker wrote: Sun Jul 05, 2026 6:52 pm Nope..... he would re-enter the draft. That's how the Raiders got Bo Jackson.
There's no benefit to the NFL to allow a player never signed to the league to do this.

I cant imagine he would go in the first round next year if he held out, he may be a first round talent but he still has the knee plug that most teams would be hesitant to spend a 1st round pick on.

There is a significant chance he would drop even further. First, the injury means his knee only gets worse over time. Second, teams are not going to want a guy who refuses the team that drafted him originally, and third he was already off a lot of teams draft boards according to sources.. He will sign.rich72 wrote: Mon Jul 06, 2026 10:38 am I cant imagine he would go in the first round next year if he held out, he may be a first round talent but he still has the knee plug that most teams would be hesitant to spend a 1st round pick on.
