Yes, this 100%!!!!
Now, for me I'd only give the 3rd as we have to pay a new contract and the age. But we've wasted enough time, draft picks and money so it is what it is! This gives us a rock solid middle frontman and that boost our overall DL, which would boost our overall defense. To me this is a winning move. Yet, some clowns call for the high level talent in next years draft....ok so say we do that and then they don't make it to the high/elite level of NFL performance. Again, more wasted time, draft picks and money. DUMB....I believe we call that INSANITY!

That the bottom line; we made tons of bad draft picks over the years and most of the raiders drafts only last a year or two with raiders….so giving up a 2nd round for Vea might not be that bad at all.Rabidraider wrote: Sat Aug 15, 2026 6:10 am Vea has probably 2 years of prime ability followed by 2 years very good ability. He's 31. A 3-4 year deal would be fine.
If the game plan works the team could be on a playoff run in his years 2-4.
How many dud draft picks have we had over the years? a 2nd or 3rd isn't a big deal.
He is pretty much a guaranteed home run on a huge position of need.
Him and Maxx would be worth the price of admission.
You win in the trenchs. He is the trench...
Even Crosby who is maybe the Raiders best player at the moment was a fourth round pick….

That would be OK if he'd settle for a bit less than he's asking, or if the guaranteed money is Raider friendly.Rabidraider wrote: Sat Aug 15, 2026 6:10 am Vea has probably 2 years of prime ability followed by 2 years very good ability. He's 31. A 3-4 year deal would be fine.

But if I had to bet, I'd still put my money on him resigning with TB.

Tampa is fullovschitt.
They don’t want to pay him.
So they’re trying to play like they won’t trade him so teams will up their offers.
Vea didn’t ask for a trade from the only team he’s ever known because Tampa secretly wishes to extend him.

If it was a player at any other position but DT I would say no. It just so happens he's a stud NT (ideal need) who collapses the pocket and stops the run. The Spytek and Brady connection. Said he only wants the Raiders or Cali team in trade. It's all lined up perfectly. I'd make the trade for a 3rd in a heartbeat and I'd consider a 2nd. Vita is an absolute stud player at the biggest need the Raiders currently have

They are paying him...he's getting $17-$18 Mil this year but the main reason he wants a new deal stems from the fact that none of that money is guaranteed, so he's considering the possibility of being a career ending injury away from losing out on another $50-$60+ Mil if he gets a new deal.Be_Easy_25 wrote: Sat Aug 15, 2026 8:17 am Tampa is fullovschitt.

It's fine that he's asking for one last contract but I think he and his agent went about it the wrong way. On the other side, the reality is that TB can't really cannot afford to lose him in any way because if even if a team offers a 2nd or 3rd rounder in return, that won't come close to his actual value to the Bucs.
I think both sides will come to their senses and meet somewhere in the middle for him to remain in TB.

The team can always play with the cap. Every year it goes up. Players restructure. Cousins 10 million is gone next year also helps. Would he take 4 years 100 million 70 guaranteed?
Currently 13 million in cap space, 59 million next year so far.

Raiders sign DT Foley Fatukasi. We can more than likely forget Vita. Is this kid any good?

Career Journey: Fatukasi is entering his ninth NFL season. He began his career developing into a steady interior presence with the New York Jets (2018–2021). He later signed a lucrative multi-year contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars (2022–2023). Most recently, he anchored the middle for the Houston Texans, appearing in four games during an injury-shortened 2025 campaign where he registered 1.5 sacks before a shoulder injury sidelined him.RI RAIDER wrote: Sat Aug 15, 2026 11:57 am Raiders sign DT Foley Fatukasi. He not the answer; their really no good free agent NT available….if any team has a decent NT, then they hang on to him….I mean Vea want to get paid and he knows he is still one of top NT in the NFL; but he want one big paycheck while he can still get it….

If you want a very good-to-great NT you gotta pay. Money or picks, or both.
