Not quite sure what some are expecting from players on the waiver wire. They're more than likely depth at best unless the player is an improvement, why make a move just make a move?

Interesting, they plucked a guy from a good team that has been in the league for three years with plenty of film on him and who they saw play just a week ago.

Strong running game + 2 great/good TE pass options is optimal for speed at receiver. Tucker, Benson & Thornton can all threaten deep. Im not gonna argue that a #1 stud receiver isn't needed, but with the setup currently I'd feel a lot worse if there was less deep threat options. Kubiaks scheme utilizes the field stretcher. Having a stouter run defense is absolutely key imomstrbass2000 wrote: Mon Aug 31, 2026 10:30 am wr is weaker the dt ...having crap wr affect bower and the ground game as defense condense the space defended cause wr are not a threat

The person has to be released within their first 3 years on a team.Hellbound wrote: Mon Aug 31, 2026 10:30 am Not quite sure what some are expecting from players on the waiver wire. They're more than likely depth at best unless the player is an improvement, why make a move just make a move?
Then you are looking at your weaknesses and teams that have strength in those areas (not always but a fair start).
Is that 3rd stringer better than what you have?
It's starts with a lot of dreaming and then it becomes yeah it's a lot more limited once you get into it.
But is it possible to find better depth with a WR/OL/DL/LB/RB than what we have at our bottom? Probably.
But how much of an impact do they really have to winning?
We'll see, have no idea what to expect here today.
Edit: 1 player.
Yep over-hyped.

we have 1 great and 1 avg te, we have ashton jeanty and washington at rb without wr1 or even wr2's on the team, defenses will compress and make things tough on the runners and bowersGoodtimes333 wrote: Mon Aug 31, 2026 10:46 am Strong running game + 2 great/good TE pass options is optimal for speed at receiver. our wr room is one of the worst if not the worst in the league

There's been multiple reports of teams wanting to trade for Michael Mayer The last few years. The offensive disfunction has messed with everybody, him included. Think of it what you will. We'll see if the offensive production is worse than the run defensemstrbass2000 wrote: Mon Aug 31, 2026 11:01 am we have 1 great and 1 avg te, we have ashton jeanty and washington at rb without wr1 or even wr2's on the team, defenses will compress and make things tough on the runners and bowers

Mazi Smith cleared waivers correct? I think we should be signing him to the PS if so.

Liked Greedy Vance, especially as a tackler, showed some promise.

Now theres going to be more cuts to accommodate the waiver claims. One man's trash CAN be another's treasure. You never know when a switch goes on for a player. Or if a new team unlocks something
