College Football Thread - 2026
It’s that time of year for us to dog fight about who’s college team is better.
Best way to start it out IMO is with the preseason coaches poll that just dropped:
Preseason Coaches Poll
1.Ohio State
2.Oregon
3.Georgia
4.Texas
5.Notre Dame
6.Indiana
7.Miami
8.Texas A&M
9.Oklahoma
10.Ole Miss
11.Alabama
12.Texas Tech
13.LSU
14.USC
15.BYU
16.Michigan
17.Penn State
18.Tennessee
19.Washington
20.SMU
21.Utah
22.Iowa
23.Clemson
24.Houston
25.Missouri
We all know who are backing after that last few years but the 2026 season is almost upon us.
For my own part, this year is special I’m attending my first home game ever at ND on 9/12.

That's a BS part for sure, maybe a side beni is with the dollars they stay longer, but the football to me is still enjoyable.RaiderandBulldog wrote: Sat Sep 05, 2026 10:15 pm The football used to be better when teams stayed together for 4 years.
I've completely enjoyed the past 2 weeks.
My new favorite team is the Rose-Human Fightin' Engineers from Indiana.
Engineers are the real heroes.

If it was fixed like that, that is way way too close of a call.

It appears that Lane is embracing his pariah image. Got to give props to the man for being comfortable in his own skin.Attyla wrote: Sun Sep 06, 2026 10:17 am "Imagine if we had pro players" Lane Kiffin at halftime

he knows he is the current coaching darling, so his bold middle finger was perfect. LSU could run the table, even without a pro playing for him.Reno Hightower wrote: Sun Sep 06, 2026 10:25 am It appears that Lane is embracing his pariah image. No way it was fixed like that. Unless you're prime Aaron Rodgers 9/10 the hail Mary failsSkullCrusher wrote: Sun Sep 06, 2026 9:57 am If it was fixed like that, that is way way too close of a call.

Lane may have begrudgingly regained a shred of respect from Al if he were still around, or not...

Like I said last week, "Land Kiffin is an ass hat". Al found that out the hard way.Attyla wrote: Sun Sep 06, 2026 10:17 am "Imagine if we had pro players" Lane Kiffin at halftime

Very good as far as running an offense goes, but it seems that every time he speaks he steps on his dick.

That catch was phenomenal, make no mistake about that. I'm here in Utah and familiar with Whittingham and Buchanan. 6'6 big bodied receiver who high points the ball like that, very hard to defend. I can't help but feel W Michigan got f[raiders_icon]cked though. No way around itHellbound wrote: Sun Sep 06, 2026 10:55 am No way it was fixed like that. "He's a great Playaaa, get Ovaah it!!" The one idea he had wrong in that glorious press conference. May he rest in peaceReno Hightower wrote: Sun Sep 06, 2026 11:09 am Lane may have begrudgingly regained a shred of respect from Al if he were still around, or not...

Idk why but I've always liked Lane. Of course I've always had a soft spot for Jeff George too. One can coach and the other throws one of the prettiest balls I've ever seen. On paper they're both exactly what you would wantraidersince63 wrote: Sun Sep 06, 2026 11:56 am Like I said last week, "Land Kiffin is an ass hat". Al found that out the hard way.

LoL-Lane hardly stepped on his crank. This was well played by Lane and the LSU media relations department. SEC schools, BAMA in particular initiated a hate campaign all week and it was no small irony the Joey Freshwater shit came out leading into the seasons kickoff, basically insinuating that Lane Kiffin had purchased Jerry Sandusky's moral compass. You mean to tell me that Lane is ruining the sanctity of NCAA FBS Football? It tanked long ago.raidersince63 wrote: Sun Sep 06, 2026 11:56 am Like I said last week, "Land Kiffin is an ass hat". Kiffin is simply being Lane and doing what he is being paid an enormous sum to do. Expectations came with that contract, National championship expectations. Lane may be a slimly little weasel but he is LSU's little weasel and they knew exactly what they were getting. LSU will die on that hill or toss Lane under the bus in a second if his teams underperform. Joey Freshwater's southern tour will then have landed in Baton Rouge enroute to UTEP.
The media has always been weaponized and follow the money back to the source.
Do you really think anyone outside Kalamazoo, Michigan gives two rats asses about Western Michigan's loss? Drama sells, bad guys generate money as does the poor oppressed. Mark my words tomorrow Colin Cowherd, Jim Rome or Stephen n A. Smith will be pounding the table about the snow job in Ann Arbor.
Jerry Springer was brilliant. f[raiders_icon]ck the Big 10.
Do I like Kiffin? No, but I give credit where credit is due and personally am enjoying watching him carpet bomb the SEC leaving scorched earth in his wake.
Not directing this at you in particular but the SEC is a dumpster fire and I like popcorn. It's even better than OJ's White Bronco chase.
I'll never forgive the NCAA for not protecting the PAC12. Burn baby burn.
