When it resulted in continued massive losing seasons the blame went solely on the QB.

I ask what did you expect? If you expected more, youre a moron.

Look at Palmer. 2 years on the Raiders and went 8-16.
He goes to Arizona and went 29-9 over the next 3 years.

QB? Team? Coaching? Scheme?

Im not denying Carr was average at best but there's more than one way to skin a cat.

I mean 9 years 6 HCs? Thats a new HC every 1.5 years average.

Do you expect to beat KC with Andy Reid scheme in place for 13 years.
His entire team knows the playbook upside-down all while the Raiders are in kindergarten learning another new playbook.

I, for the life of me, dont understand how you can not see the logic.
Yes there were (are? We don’t know yet) many issues with the raiders!

Carrbage was simply another issue. Are you trying to say that scheme and not knowing the playbook over five years is the reason this idiot threw the ball away on fourth down? I think that’s pretty much the only time it’s ever happened in NFL is with Carrbage

That's very misleading. For 6 of his 9 years on this team, he worked in the same system; same concepts, same language, same plays. It was when he got involved in who the OC was going to be following his third year that things went to shit.

You can make a better case for O'Connell who is working in his 4th system in 4 years. That was never the case with Carr.

The Carr defenders would absolutely have a leg to stand on had he left, went to his personally chosen team and then lit it up.

That obviously didnt happen. All Carr did was prove every doubter correct. A Mentally fragile, loser who gets his coach fired (in regard to being a starting NFL qb).

The only place I will agree is I dont know Carr as a person and have no interest in making judgements of him off the field.

For the life of me I don't see how this supporters can not see that its entirely possible the reason there were 6 scheme changes may very well have been because of Carr.

I recognize some of Carr's detractors but have not been around long enough to know who all of his supporters are, though I assume it is a very short list.

And I know this is an old thread but after all this time, I don't get the support for the guy but I also don't get the flat out venom thrown at him.

For me, he's not much more than an afterthought for the simplest of reasons...he no longer wears the correct laundry.

This is only the latest multi-year thread. There were at least 4, possibly 5 that went for quite some time that proceeded this one.

If you look at his career, you can put an exclamation point on it in his last two years. His hand selected location, same results.

Has he filed his paperwork yet? No. He keeps open the door to return to suck ass again.

Considering some of the stuff we discuss around here, I'm not surprised.

That “venom” is commensurate with the breadth and width his poison crippled the franchise. Doofus too had a hand in placating the phony f[raiders_icon]ck, but I always felt that that weaselly dude whispering to the king in Lord of the Rings encapsulated that relationship well if one imagines the king as Billy Bob Thornton’s character in Sling Blade. Or a clown. Dealer’s choice.

We suffered for so long, and it became so rife with incredulity that everyone couldn’t see him for the fraud he was after 9 f[raiders_icon]cking years, that every time a supporter makes an appearance it throws us right back to pulling hair out and screaming till one’s throat burns with bile and blood.

That phoniness AND cowardice was so anti-Raider that it made it such a painful PAINFUL f[raiders_icon]cking embarrassment every time he took the field. He cast a pall of shame over what was once one of the most legendary organizations in the NFL. We used to be a winning team. Not only that, but we won with guys who were so f[raiders_icon]cking real that other teams got rid of them. Hahahah. It was Oakland and the ’70s. Los Angeles and the ’80s. Misfits and madmen, alcohol-fueled and steroid-engorged, but also some of the best athletes to ever hit the gridiron.

Sure, we may have floundered just as miserably without him. Al decaying and his bumblefuck of a son (who consistently provided a generous dollop to the shit sundae himself), but no one truly captures this long era of Raider misery like the mewling yellow-bellied sissy boy and his sidecar of dumb-as-dirt siblings.

I despise him. Just like I’ve always despised people in the world with the same characteristics and personality traits. But the only reason it approaches anything nearing, but not quite, “hate”, is because he wore the Silver and Black.
