Dolphins week
Nobody made a thread about this yet..... weird. Put your observations/predictions here in the run up to the game.
I think the Raiders still win this game, even without Bowers, but his absence definitely changes the math. This might be the opportunity to see Connor Heyward, the favorite FA for some members, actually get a chunk of playing time. It's also the chance to see our questionable pass defense vs what was the worst pass-catching group in the NFL - until the Bowers news.
The most interesting thing for me to watch in this game is the defense and how Leonard calls it. It still might not tell us much, given the opponent but it's the first glimpse we'll have.

Hopefully Maxx maintains his rush lanes. Also, there's gonna be blitzes. In the past blitzes didn't work worth a damn. Poorly coached and executed. Multiple guys in the same gap and it log jammed with no affect. I'm calling it now, Stukes gets his first career INT

Raiders favored by 3. I don’t expect us to be favorites very often until or unless the hoped for turnaround takes place. But I would take the Raiders even without Bowers.
I think the offensive line is the thing to watch along with third down defense. Those were our weakest aspects last season.

I think the offseason was far more interesting this time around and the reality that we actually get to play a season after all this went down just snuck up on me.
But let's go out there and win this one. My brother Tommy deserves a curb stomp.

With a new “franchise” QB waiting in the wings and a new coaching staff, expectations should be high. Yet we have stunk for so long, the troops (fans) are hard to convince a new dawn has begun. We have to see real improvement in order to truly lift our spirits.

They are very confident. Though they think their team isn’t great many of them have already chalked us up as a win.RaiderandBulldog wrote: Thu Sep 10, 2026 7:29 am View from the enemy

Whatever. If anyone thinks any team in this game should win it easily, they haven't been paying attention. Miami is a disaster right now and we... well, we're the Raiders. For the past 23 years we've shown just how many ways there are to screw things up.Raidernation1979 wrote: Thu Sep 10, 2026 8:27 am They are very confident. Right now this game is like two little fat kids slapping at each other.
I tend to think we'll win, but a loss wouldn't surprise me either.

I could easily see this game being a loss...Willis scrambling all over the field, and the D's tongues are dragging the ground by halftime...there is no such thing as a gimmie game for the Raiders!
