Around the NFL
No clue where to post some stuff not necessarily team related but could be? Feel free to delete if this belongs somewhere else.
Maxx and Parsons would be nasty. I probably wouldn’t pay the price though.

The Vikings get a 5th rounder for JJ McCarthy...and some here think we can get a 2nd or at worst a 3rd for AOC. I said a 6th or 7th and at best, a 5th. And remember that JJM was a first round pick, albeit he comes with some big time flaws.

The Giants are releasing the 33-year-old Beckham, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo reported Tuesday. Beckham, who became NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year and a three-time Pro Bowler during his first stint in New York, couldn't conjure that form in his late-career homecoming. Although he earned a spot on the 53-man roster this summer and then reclaimed his fabled No. 13 jersey, he didn't make a noticeable on-field impact in his three regular-season games.

this felt like an AI response...Rabidraider wrote: Tue Sep 29, 2026 12:30 pm The Giants are releasing the 33-year-old Beckham, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo reported Tuesday. Mary Shelley’s 1818, Frankenstein, used the opening iconic paragraph and AI came back with 100% AI.
I knew there was a secret cabal and Mary was using AI 200 years ago, fml.
AI is trained on classical literature, there's no secret cabal, it was wrong, again.

It's definitely nice having a high waiver priority, just in case. But it took us 3 weeks to find room for a guy from our own PS to make the 53, even when he is tied for 4th in the NFL in TD catches. Of course if a safety came available, nobody would shed a tear over cutting Pola Mao.

Yes. It's a good thing to move down the waiver wire order. Best case scenario, we never get in the top 20 all season. Looking at the lists of players who are getting tryouts, Raiders are not missing out on much.chucker wrote: Tue Sep 29, 2026 4:12 pm It's definitely nice having a high waiver priority, just in case. Yeah man, this regime does zero “knee-jerk”. They know what they like, and they are methodical in acquiring it. Coach cant preach that family togetherness team stuff and then have Spy yo-yo’ing personal.chucker wrote: Tue Sep 29, 2026 4:12 pm It's definitely nice having a high waiver priority, just in case. I’m loving how they take things as they come. The Maxx move being rescinded was the first opportunity to see how they work. The whole fiasco was dramatic for everyone in the sports world except for Coach and Spy. They just take news and make the necessary adjustments.
I haven’t dug into available backup Free Safeties, but I imagine Spy already has. It’s probably safe to say the Pola-Mao will not be a Raider next year. Just isn’t talented/intelligent enough to be part of these Raiders.
And that got me thinking, how fk’n nice to enter a draft needing something like a backup Free Safety rather than entering a draft with a screaming need for starters across the entire roster. What a fk’n difference.
Go Raiders

I can remember two really positive additions on in-season waiver claims. David Amerson and Jack Jones. Both CBs, both played really well until the end of the season. Both sucked thereafter. Maybe Carlson was also a waiver claim? I don't remember.Atlasffa wrote: Tue Sep 29, 2026 4:19 pm Yes. It's a good thing to move down the waiver wire order. A sign of an improving roster. We’ll have to get use to this if Spy keeps bangin’ these drafts out. It’s a nice problem.
