No clue where to post some stuff not necessarily team related but could be? Feel free to delete if this belongs somewhere else.

Maxx and Parsons would be nasty. I probably wouldn’t pay the price though.

My goodness the NFL can look stupid at times. Dude’s nickname is “Juice”. That leaves you what? Pretending to drink some juice, pretending to shoot your ass full of steroids, or some sort of homage to OJ Simpson. That’s about it. I’d say that pretending to drink some juice is outright angelic compared to the other options.

Maybe the NFL has AI handling the fines department now, or did it actually take time to dawn on someone that pretending to drink a beer looks really really f[raiders_icon]cking similar to drinking a glass of juice? In fact pretending to drink anything at all looks pretty much the same. Had he really wanted people to think it was a beer he could have gripped his fist like he was drinking from a mug/stein which could also be misconstrued as giving a blow job. Obviously he didn’t do that because HE WAS PRETENDING TO DRINK A GLASS OF JUICE!!! Smh.

All of that shot through my synapses faster than I could type this post. Whatever NFL numbnut got this one rollin’ deserves an old school Three Stooges slap upside the back of the head.

That's because a good team shouldn't be punting and setting for 3.

This is an obvious attempt at moving the goal posts but I'll bite anyway.

Marshawn Lynch was drafted 12th overall and didn't really make his mark on the league until his second team.

The greatest RB's of all time were drafted at the top of the first round. Saquon Barkley had one of the greatest seasons for an RB in history and he was drafted second overall. Bo Jackson was a #1 overall pick!

You're way off with this take. Using "video-game good" is hindsight codewords to cover your tracks.

People love claiming this because it makes them feel like they stated something intelligent, but the facts contradict this claim:

Saquon Barkley: 1st round, pick 2

Jeremiyah Love: 1st round, pick 3

Ashton Jeanty: 1st round, pick 6

Bijaun Robinson: 1st round, pick 8

Christian McCaffery: 1st round, pick 8

Jahmyr Gibbs: 1st round, pick 12

Breece Hall: 2nd round, pick 36

Jonathan Taylor: 2nd round, pick 41

Kenneth Walker: 2nd round, pick 41

Derrick Henry: 2nd round, pick 45

The best RB's, past and present, are almost always exclusively drafted in the top 50.

Jared Goff, Kirk Cousins, Rich Gannon, Troy Aikman, John Elway, etc. would disagree with you. A good offensive line helps everyone equally, not just the RB.

Not in recent history. In general, yes, but that doesn't mean the most talented RBs are "replaceable".

Again, the last remark is to cover your tracks and is hindsight codewords. I already debunked this, the best RB's are drafted in the top 50. It's rare that a great RB is drafted outside of that (James Cook, pick 63).

People make illogical claims because they believe it makes them sound smart, like "We should spend all of our picks on OL! Hurr durr! We should have used our top pick for OL! Hurr durr!" No matter the draft class, roster, personnel, scheme, or current situation. They believe it makes them sound smart, but it actually exposes how little they actual know about the game.
Using hindsight & codewords to cover my tracks?? WTH are you talking about. That makes no sense. I said for a RB to be worth top half of the first round they would have to be video game good. That’s plain English & straight forward.

& we’re definitely putting this into context. So we’re talking about in today’s era. I haven’t gone back to the 90’s or earlier & studied positional value for that time period.

So listing other top/elite RBs who got drafted early doesn’t debunk my claim or make yours correct. Cause I don’t believe they shoulda been picked over other players/positions in their drafts either.

So far you said nothing in your responses that disprove my claims.

The running back thing is always interesting…

Brady and Mahomes have run the show for 25 years or so …that kind of screwed up the good running back is needed narrative.

You do see a Walker or Barkley here and there..but for the most part what we have seen lately(25 years or so) is that you can win without one..but you need a My.Rushmore QB or HC and/or a crazy d

Raiders/allen

Boys/emmit

Eagles/Barkley

Niners/craig maybe

And others, but since I’ve been old enough to pay attention the teams that win it all have average to above average a lot of the time.

Seems like the shit comes and goes, rises and falls. The league spent a little time (Raiders a lot) discounting the importance of the LB position. Everyone, except maybe Baltimore moved to hybrid safety/LB to varying success. Now the league seems to be pulling back a bit from pass happy and pass happy defenses which means stout LB and wanting a star at RB.

We’ve seen this year the importance of having a great LB. Our RB, was it worth it? Who the f[raiders_icon]ck knows, he’s hurt, but he was pretty damn amazing last year behind the very worst offensive line in the history of the NFL.

I was trying to look at it like this, who would I want the most right now? Bijan Robinson, 1st round, 8th overall.

Who do I wish we had the last 10+ years? Derrick Henry, 2nd round, 45th overall.

Who do I wish we could clone? Bo Jackson 7th round 183rd overall in 1987… BUT, originally drafted 1st round, 1st overall in 1986.

In other words, all of you are right, or all of you are wrong, or both, simultaneously.

In this case while it's great to have one of these guys it is more about having the ability to run the ball either by committee and/or a star. We currently sit at 27th in the league. Gotta do better than that.

Marcus Allen has a legitimate case that he is the greatest RB of all time.

Rushing: He's 15th in rushing yards, 4th in rushing touchdowns.

Receiving: 5,411 yards, 21 receiving touchdowns. As is, these numbers place him 4th among RBs all time.

He has 6 passing TDs, 282 yard. That's second to Payton.

But those don't tell the whole story:

He lost opportunities to two strikes, endured four seasons of severely restricted usage during his prime, and STILL retired with 17,654 yards from scrimmage and 144 rushing and receiving touchdowns. If we run the numbers with reasonable projections for the strike years and lost production where Al lost his mind he gets really, really close to Emmit Smith.

Did I just read through bickering about top end drafted backs vs mid to late round picks? I think it's pretty obvious that most elite backs are had in the first two rounds. By most, that's the vast majority of the time. You aren't getting a Bijan Robinson or Adrian Peterson in the 5th round. Very rare. You can get quality players all over but the argument over it is a bit much. The Raiders are 3-1 playing good ball! Rejoice.

Speaking of backs, Bijan Robinson is a fuckin stud. #1 back in football by a mile if not more. If the Raiders have the chance to get an elite back in the future, even with Jeanty on the team, I'm all about it

Per the celebration clarification that came out earlier today from the NFL, it no longer matters what you are drinking when you pretend drink. Go figure! :loltears:

These are the consensus best running backs of all time. It's not debatable.
You claim to be a Raiders fan? How the hell can you leave off one of the greatest running backs of all time? A 1st round 10th overall and one of the greatest Raiders of all time Marcus Allen

How did that happen???
