The Run Game
Why is it so poor?
Is the OL?
Is Jeanty not seeing the holes?
We need a legit WR to open things up?
Please advise.

True. But as players I know I would never let on to how I actually felt. I and guys on my teams would always tough it out. But how Kubiak and the rest of the staff cannot see that jeanty isn't 100% is hurting the run gameXramfan wrote: Sun Oct 11, 2026 7:13 pm If Jeanty is in charge then I could blame him and call him selfish as well but usually the HC/GM has final say and they call the shots as to who plays and who doesnt.

Everyone talks about how we upgraded the O-line while in actuality we added one player other than draft picks lolHellbound wrote: Sun Oct 11, 2026 6:56 pm We went into this season with Miller and Linderbaum as our only legit olinemen. That hasn't changed as the other 3 are average to backups at best. A coach can only coach someone up so much. It's eventually up to the player. He either has it or he doesn't

I hit 30 and got a much greater respect for how NFL players survive. I also had a grade 2 ankle sprain and developed plantar fasciitis as a result. Doing the crazy athletic task of walking down a damp hill whilst moderately intoxicated.raider_kin wrote: Sun Oct 11, 2026 6:54 pm I remember hitting 30 and thinking damn how in hell did I make it here as stupid as I have been

#1 O-line. Not sure if it's coaching, lack of effort, or lack of talent. Probably a combo of all 3. Looked like world beaters vs Miami. Better competition and they're just bad. Still.
#2 The insistence on starting an injured RB, then going to 3rd on the depth chart to spell him. WTF? How about next game let Jeanty sit and start Washington with Laube... or even Hemby. Jeanty is good when healthy, useless to us when he's not.

The OLine mistake was made in offseason
More cash should have been spent on the 2 guard positions
Henning deserves a chance at RT
I’ll say it again fella’s, Jeanty is not the guy! He is not in the same class as a Barkley Robinson mccaffrey Walker
Go back and watch the film, yes the OLine hasn’t helped but the player has no burst and continues to run towards the wrong gap, twice today following a G when the tackle had opened up the outside lane..

we continue to push out a hurt player in jeanty with plantar and bad ankle, then we play laube the shrimp over the bigger and faster back that has proven to be explosive ...terrible decisions
this on top of having crap at wr which allows defenses to play 8 in the box

jeanty has never been fast, now add in plantar and a bad ankle and we got a back that cant even get to the hole if it was 5 yds open, then we play laube the shrimp more then washington horrible decisionsraiders72 wrote: Sun Oct 11, 2026 9:05 pm The OLine mistake was made in offseason

Kubiak is no fool. There's something we're not seeing with Washington. Maybe in pass protection? I have no idea.

I think it's all about the pass protection. Given the offensive line's struggles with pass pro yesterday, it's not a surprise that Washington was marginalized. I'm sure he'll get plenty of opportunities in the future and there wasn't some magical formula of Washington usage that would have changed yesterday.rhumbob wrote: Mon Oct 12, 2026 10:47 am Kubiak is no fool. If nothing else, I respect your football IQ of most who post on here.Xramfan wrote: Sun Oct 11, 2026 7:13 pm If Jeanty is in charge then I could blame him and call him selfish as well but usually the HC/GM has final say and they call the shots as to who plays and who doesnt.
I was going to post the same thing. Kubiak decides how many carries Jeanty gets game to game versus ____. I don't understand blaming Jeanty if the higher ups decide he gives the team the best chance to win. Even Laube got more carries against the Patriots than Washington, so at this point we can conclude that it's not on Jeanty.

Miller is even questionable at this point in his career.Hellbound wrote: Sun Oct 11, 2026 6:56 pm We went into this season with Miller and Linderbaum as our only legit olinemen. I thought Miller had a dismal game yesterday, bears keeping an eye on him. Might be time soon to see Grant out there. Could be Miller is part of a trade deadline deal.

I would have no problem accepting this take if not for the fact that the greatest team (and run defense) the Raiders have faced, Jeanty outplayed Washington. This is objective fact. Jeanty accomplished this, while also being hurt, and given Washington went into the half with more carries.raiders72 wrote: Sun Oct 11, 2026 9:05 pm The OLine mistake was made in offseason

Yeah, Washington had 5 yards on 1 carry, but there is no proof Washington would have maintained that average if he split carries with Jeanty. Laube got 3 carries and his average was no better than Jeanty's. Regardless of if you think Washington is the superior back, he's not a mythological creature nor made of magic. If 2 RBs got clamped, I have no reason to believe the 3rd one would have 500 yards. Especially when the game prior he averaged 2 yards per carry.
