It has to be more than that. That wasnt Kubiak's pick. Washington is.Rabidraider wrote: Tue Oct 27, 2026 9:06 am Washington in a small sample averages 4.9.
Why not test that number with more carries?
I think the team is trying to prove the high Jeanty pick was right.
And at this point ,that mindset is wrong.

They are testing it, both players are being given largely a 50/50 split. And they've found that the problem isn't the RB, it's our guards. From the Rams gameRabidraider wrote: Tue Oct 27, 2026 9:06 am Washington in a small sample averages 4.9.

Jeanty's Rushes (Yards for each attempt)
Off tackle
- 1
- 3,8,1,2,-5,0,5
Washington's Rushes
Off tackle
- 21
- -2,2,0,4,2
A healthy Washington is far more effective off tackle. And both RBs are struggling when having to rush behind our piss poor guards.

That's because they're featuring him at starting RB. The offense is designed for a RB to get yardage, it doesn't strictly have to be Jeanty. If they have line him up predominantly at slot or wideout and let Washington handle the load at RB and they start winning, then it's not a problem. The only potential issue is media, and fanbase who will questioning why Jeanty isn't the starting RB when he was drafted as one at 6. But if they're winning they're will be less questions.Attyla wrote: Tue Oct 27, 2026 8:58 am Well, two things. One he is not helping Kubiak's offense the way the offense is designed. That is a problem for the team. And two, we aren't winning.

It feels and reads like you are making a circular argument.ALLRAIDERWORLD21 wrote: Tue Oct 27, 2026 1:01 pm That's because they're featuring him at starting RB. Whose arguing. The bottom line is winning, how we do it doesn't matter. Like Al told Plunkett on his first start vs the Chargers, "It doesn't matter if you pay well, it only matters that we win."

Not sure what Jeanty would fetch via trade but I'd have no issue with it if they got a decent return...No way anyone goes out of their way to offer anything unless the Raiders shop him around.
Ship Flock Nation out as well if the price is right, teams will be interested bbut not likely at the price we'd be asking.

He lost his magical powers, defenders used to slip off him like he had a force field, now its like hes covered in double sided tape. No one slips off him anymore.
I was a big fan of drafting Jeanty. In my opinion now though, I think hes not nearly as explosive enough. He seems to only turn on his jets once they stop his forward progress. Off the line he is slow and defenders are no longer slipping off him. I doubt he has enough speed to get around the corners in the NFL either. I say bring in Washington and let Jeanty take some notes.

Carrol was past his prime last year but that's one thing he got right, making sure we had a WR that defenses had to respect for most of the season. I haven't looked it up to confirm, but when Thorton wasn't out there, the running game didn't look the same. Doesn't matter who's blocking. Defenses will always put more guys than can be blocked unless the A. QB is a threat and/or B. WR's are a threat.
Jeanty saw lighter boxes last year, it's that simple. With more space to maneuver, Jeanty was able to break tackles and worm his way to almost 1000 yards with the NFL worst OL. Give a healthy Jeanty that space via Mendoza and/or Thorton and he's back to his old self.

Washington 40 carries
How is that 50/50?

I think the bust stuff is fairly ludicrous. He’s clearly playing well below 100%. That’s not apologist - it’s documented. The ankle in preseason. The foot popping up thereafter. Reports that the team wanted to shut him down for a couple weeks. And also the tape from last year to this year paints a pretty obvious picture - his explosiveness is missing right now. And given the ankle… it’s not surprising.
Second, let’s not pretend the o-line is helping either of our RBs. Even Washington’s efficiency has largely been a few runs where he can bounce it outside. Nobody’s getting help here and then Jeanty has the added bonus of facing stacked boxes more than almost anybody.
My only knock on Jeanty right now is really the same thing I had on Crosby last year: playing through injury is helpful if it’s just a discomfort thing. If it actively eliminates your effectiveness… sit and let it heal.

I don't see a bust at all with Jeanty. Maybe/probably he was picked too high in the draft. He's obviously not 100% from the ankle.... and the biggest problem isn't him, it's the "still sucks" O line. Until the O line gets fixed, Jeanty will continue to struggle.... along with the whole run game, IMO.
