NFL Trade Deadline
Ok maybe this doesn’t need its own thread but the deadline is 5 weeks away. I know the next couple weeks will determine if we are buyers but let’s say we get to 5-2 do we make a move?
I really wish we still had Jakobi here but it sounds like a few guys might be available…
Brian Thomas Jr
Marvin Harrison Jr
Jerry Jeudy
Thoughts?

We should be trading now. Either getting rid of players or bringing them in.

Unpopular opinion: no, we should not be trading.
There is one way out of the mire that this organization is in and that's drafting smartly and correctly. At this stage there is talent on this team. And that talent that is here? We need every bit of it, whether they are here or not five years from now (for instance).
While it feels great to say "trade Maxx" that weakens us short term and creates no guarantees longer term.
We need to get to a point where we are rewarding our draft picks with a second contract because they have played well enough to warrant it. As of right now? Its seems the only place that seems to pick up our cast offs is New Orleans.
Note: As much as I wanted Nelson at guard it was not the right move (he was never going to come here anyway.)

Mine only issue with the 2 colts trades is we still play both teams who just got even better.

Like the saying says, better trade one year early than one year late. If the team can get a top 15 pick for Maxx you do it at this point.

The only teams interested in Maxx will be someone looking for a player to push them over the top. It will be a very late pick IMORabidraider wrote: Wed Oct 28, 2026 5:43 am Like the saying says, better trade one year early than one year late. Some of these playoff teams are around .500, like Dallas. So they are in the playoff mix but could easily end up with a mid to higher pick.FLORIDARAYDAH wrote: Wed Oct 28, 2026 6:06 am The only teams interested in Maxx will be someone looking for a player to push them over the top. No reason to be sellers, yet. Despite the 4 game skid we are still in the thick of things. A loss to the Jets could obviously change that.Willmark wrote: Tue Oct 27, 2026 6:22 pm Unpopular opinion: no, we should not be trading.

raiders should kick the tires on JOSH DOWNS dude on the last yr of a rookie deal (cheap) has been performing at a very high clip as a wr2 until this yr where the colts signed keenan allen to steal half his targets
raiders could use a nice wr2 in the slot where josh downs is perfect for in our offense, offer em a 6th or even 5th rd pick

Funny you mention Dallas. I know the NFC East is a gong show, but after their win Monday night I can see them thinking they might have a shot at the division. Cowboys for sure could use help on defense.Rabidraider wrote: Wed Oct 28, 2026 6:11 am Some of these playoff teams are around .500, like Dallas.
