NFL Trade Deadline
Ok maybe this doesn’t need its own thread but the deadline is 5 weeks away. I know the next couple weeks will determine if we are buyers but let’s say we get to 5-2 do we make a move?
I really wish we still had Jakobi here but it sounds like a few guys might be available…
Brian Thomas Jr
Marvin Harrison Jr
Jerry Jeudy
Thoughts?

Not a fan of moving him but for the right compensation we would have to consider, if that fits into our future plans. Love Max but he is not a game changer as this team is currently constructed.
Would it weaken us for the rest of the year, most definitely.

A 1st and 2nd along with the $30 million in extra cap space would be a tough to turn down. The Rams will have a ton of young Free Agents in positions of need for us and they will not be able to sign all of them.

He may not have the stats you would like but he is disrupting plays on a regular basis. Sacks wise, he is underperforming but when you look at the number of double teams he is getting his presence is opening up other players to get pressure. Dean in particular has benefitted from his taking up two blockers.Grumpy13 wrote: Wed Oct 28, 2026 9:06 am Not a fan of moving him but for the right compensation we would have to consider, if that fits into our future plans. Fair point, as I said I am not a fan of trading him.Attyla wrote: Wed Oct 28, 2026 9:18 am He may not have the stats you would like but he is disrupting plays on a regular basis. The teams likely to trade for Maxx? Say they offer a first. It’s unlikely that’s in the top 10; more likely a pick in the later third of the draft. Point being the teams that likely need him are going to have much later in the draft picks.
Not something I’d want to do.

Teams that would need him are teams that will view multiple picks with far less concern because they are already good teams. Rams throw out picks like confetti on a yearly basis. It is a game of have's and have not's in the NFL. If you have picks and need players your bartering chip is that of finding a team who needs picks but have that special player. Guys like Mack, who are on team friendly deals can be had if you have the right pick combination.
I personally think we as a team should be collecting talent not selling talent. But there are offers just too good to turn down and that is when you become a seller.

I think the max we get for Maxx is one #1....
And if lucky a day 3 pick to sweeten the deal...

Fair but keep in mind you can pair that 1st with the Raiders' own 1st and do some damage with it. NFL is unlike the other sports' 1st rounders. You can kind great value later in the round.Willmark wrote: Wed Oct 28, 2026 11:39 am The teams likely to trade for Maxx? Say they offer a first. Not entirely true regarding draft picks being a 50/50 proposition when it comes to drafting them.mstrbass2000 wrote: Tue Oct 27, 2026 10:31 am i agree wtf ...giving up future picks for an all pro type player is a no brainer ...draft picks are a 50/50 prospect (bust/boom) a proven player is proven
ps imagine our left side kolton,q and tyler
If we base it on players drafted in rounds 1-3 who successfully become primary or quality starters and evaluate them by calculating whether a drafted prospect meets the standard as a starter during their rookie contract applying metrics such as…
Starting a majority of available games (typically 48 career starts over 4 seasons).
Sustaining a high percentage of total team snaps (usually 50% or higher).
Achieving performance metrics indicative of a quality starter rather than just hanging around on an active NFL roster.
Here are the approximate hit rates when it comes to the rounds 1-3. Obviously, they diminish as day 3 picks roll around…
Round 1
QB 35-46%
WR 64%
TE 73%
RB 60-67%
OT 73%
IOL 70-83%
DL/Edge 66%
LB 56%
DB 61%
Round 2
QB 10-12.8%
WR 40%
TE 25%
RB 32-40%
OT 33%
IOL 48-70%
DL/Edge 35%
LB 38%
DB 40%
Round 3
QB 2-7.5%
WR 22%
TE 12%
RB 20%
OT14%
IOL 51%
DL/Edge 18%
LB 20%
DB 20%

Also important to note, in this upcoming draft WR, DB, QB DL/Edge and OT's are considered to be the top positions. IOL is not, however when you look at the hit rate historically that is encouraging. We need to also keep in mind that it's possible that 5-7 QB's could be drafted between rounds 1&2 this will push other prospects down the board.
