QB class will push players down, even a shaky QB class. But yea, he is going to be there in the thick of things. I would even package up another day three pick or two to move up to grab him and I am not usually a trade up guy. His familiarity with Mendoza and that back shoulder move of his makes him perfect for us.Rabidraider wrote: Wed Oct 28, 2026 12:43 pm He's going top 10 I'm seeing. I like him too. But he's going very early and the team needs all its high picks. Maybe if we continue to suck we get close....Attyla wrote: Wed Oct 28, 2026 12:50 pm QB class will push players down, even a shaky QB class. But yea, he is going to be there in the thick of things. Bear Alexander, I mentioned him a page ago, low center of gravity and still has some room to add poundsmranquales wrote: Wed Oct 28, 2026 1:29 pm The big dt from Oregon will be there in the second round.

Weird question…was the line better last year?
I mean it was ass too,but he had a few nice games last year and saw the burst and trucking dudes.
Hit hit behind the line a lot…but line looks even worse this year.
And don’t tell me he doesn’t have burst..you don’t score a long tuddy in a wheel route if you don’t have burst.

I agree with you. I made an earlier post about my theories as to why that is. Carrol putting Thorton on one side and Tre Tucker on the other certainly helped.HesterLayes wrote: Wed Oct 28, 2026 3:18 pm Weird question…was the line better last year?

Another reason is (and others will probably disagree) is JPJ.
When JPJ is playing to his potential, he is our best run-blocking lineman, and he also has the size to not get bullied. Go back and watch every game we've ever had rushing the ball well the last few years, JPJ is in the lineup. Sincere McCormick averaged around 5 YPC with JPJ at center. Jeanty was averaging 5+ against the Broncos before JPJ got hurt last year.
Also remember they called a 20+ yard run back that would have given Jeanty over 1000 yards. So, the narrative that Jeanty can't be that type of back is false.

Powers Johnson was a horrible run blockermranquales wrote: Wed Oct 28, 2026 4:02 pm I agree with you. I made an earlier post about my theories as to why that is. Carrol putting Thorton on one side and Tre Tucker on the other certainly helped.

Hard to tell what the culprit is this year. I’ve seen a number of stats that Jeanty is basically seeing 8 (or 9) man boxes on something like 40% of his runs. He’s also getting stuffed at the line on 25% of them. His yards before contact averages 1.4. A lot of this reads nearly identical to last year.HesterLayes wrote: Wed Oct 28, 2026 3:18 pm Weird question…was the line better last year?

In terms of Jeanty himself, honestly for me the ankle looks obvious. You don’t see him attempting to do much behind the line. You don’t see him bouncing outside. You don’t see the burst through a lane. I don’t think this is him forgetting how he plays. This reads very much like a RB with a bad ankle that’s adopted a much more conservative playstyle because he’s just not able to rely on his agility or explosiveness right now.
In terms of receiving ability or the wheel route, I think he’s just a mismatch against LBs as a route runner. And even his usage after aggravating the ankle in week 4 has been fairly notable with an obvious shift (and likely the right call) - preserve his reps in the passing game.

If only the Raiders had JPJ at center, and Thornton out wide with Latavius Murray running the rock, we'd be seeing records shattered.

Jeanty got hit in the backfield so many times last year... it looks like his goal this year is to just get back to the line of scrimmage.

He played in the nfl and knows more than me,but I don’t see any holes if ever…one big hole I saw this year was with Washington on a draw a week ago or so..there are no f[raiders_icon]cking holes..come on
They do need some pitches outside and such with him tho

It's a fair question, and I think you could argue that the lowlights last year were worse (I mean at times they literally didn't know who to block), but some of Jeanty's best plays he benefited from a good downhill block. It does feel like the line has regressed as a whole, and that Kubiak's scheme coupled with Kirk's quick trigger has mitigated it to a degree.HesterLayes wrote: Wed Oct 28, 2026 3:18 pm Weird question…was the line better last year?

No it wasn't. Our pass blocking is much better. Our run blocking sucks both years, but Jeanty got hit behind the line even more last year. Jeanty showed much more wiggle last year.
We are near the top of the league in scoring. That doesn't happen with much better pass blocking and a more efficient offense.

Sorry..should have just said run blocking. Kirk does get the ball out way faster than Geno tho..I don’t think it’s night and day frDanKD wrote: Thu Oct 29, 2026 12:21 pm No it wasn't.
