Free Agency thread for Raiders and league-wide
Free agency opens March 11. CBS Sports has their top 50 ranking. No Raiders on the list. I am surprised at a couple rated high - Aaron Rodgers and Daniel Jones. Lots of wide receivers

This is just sick. And I mean sick in a bad way.
This is what Jason Kelce said about the new NFL media rights deal coming down the pike, which we all end up paying one way or another, and a future billion dollar contract.
"I really do believe that this is NFL teams knowing these media contracts that they're coming and renegotiating right now are going to be astronomically higher than they are right now," Kelce said. "I think we're going to start seeing absurd numbers... I wouldn't be surprised if in the next 10 years you see a quarterback getting, like, a billion-dollar contract.
"I'm not messing with you, because look at what Pat (Mahomes) signed. Pat signed a $500 million deal... within 10 years, the media contracts are all going to double. Now it's going to be a long-term deal. You're going to see quarterbacks making close to $100 million a year I bet. It is crazy what these media contracts are going to the networks have to have the sport because the NFL rules all of the viewership numbers.
The NFL could get 50% more from ESPN, CBS, NBC, FOX.

Charles Grant has elite traits. The limited time he got to end the year showed a lot to like. Those elite traits were on display. The team invested picks very recently on the oline and so many want to just write those guys off because there was a f[raiders_icon]cking bafoon at oline coach and an asshole at OC who got canned mid yearWNYRAIDER wrote: Wed Mar 11, 2026 11:00 am ...you're hardly alone in this, and I am surprised so many are still seeing guard as a need over tackle, with millers health and inability to get through a year, and a bigger ? at rt.

Weimar republic.. the American dollar is monopoly money steadily losing value as it's backed by nothing. Absurd regardless for a game. Makes me not wanna watch and instead just view highlights. I know I'm here, I'm a Raider fan. But that's insanitySold My Soul wrote: Wed Mar 11, 2026 11:07 am This is just sick. And I mean sick in a bad way.

...I agree we have possibilities, and the same is true at guard, but as you said, unfortunately, we don't know more than that due to the previous powers that be.
...I just don't see us getting a tackle that isn't 'ordinary' in free agency, and probably still overpaying for that, and with us knowing that miller will not get younger, and iss less and less likely to get through most of a season, I would really hope that that high 2 rolls around with someone they still like as a tackle, and better yet, a future left tackle, at least in time....
....and I know we are all on the same page without reminding each other in each post, but all of the above is with the consideration of what we are investing our # 1 in.

Today is the day where a ton of players get resigned to their own team on one year deals because FA didn't work out the way they hoped and teams have better understanding of where they are at, what they need and what they can afford. Watch em fly.

I'm even more alone because I think Glaze with a strong right guard and a competent O-Line coach will be more than fine at right tackle.DanKD wrote: Wed Mar 11, 2026 10:56 am I seem to be alone in this but after signing linderbaum I'm ok with our guard situation. I think between JPJ, Rogers, Meredith and Glaze the two best (likely Rogers and jpj) will be solid. We have no starter worthy RT

Given the trash Grant and Rogers had in terms of coaching in 2025, this is essentially a rookie year for them again. I would think at this point Glaze-Grant will battle it out at RT. Rogers probably has in roads on one of the guard spots with Meredith providing comp.Goodtimes333 wrote: Wed Mar 11, 2026 11:07 am Charles Grant has elite traits. Carlson was probably a bigger liability because he regularly spotted the other team 15 yards every kickoff. Special teams game is changing.Rdrfan1964 wrote: Wed Mar 11, 2026 10:41 am Having a kicker who struggles with 50+ field goals in today's NFL is going to cost you games ---period!

I think Left Guard needs a better floor than Charles Grant. I'm fine with letting our current talent at RG and RT prove themselves, but LG is a mess right now.
