Would have been nice to get him in Vegas as a NT is in need for the raiders this season for sure…..
But I do think the raiders defense is going to be bad and they are going to give up a lot of points; if the raiders can get anything for Crosby, I am talking decent draft picks then they should do it….

Was waiting for the "chicken little" reaction after ONE game in the preseason.rich72 wrote: Wed Aug 19, 2026 6:55 pm Rob Leonard cant even use what he has right now, he needs to prove himself with what we got first before bringing in anymore high priced players.

It's now a moot point with respect to Vita Vea because he signed a new deal, but the projected $59 million available to the team in 2027 already takes into account an increase in the cap to $327 million.Rabidraider wrote: Wed Aug 19, 2026 11:58 am The 2027 NFL salary cap is currently projected to land around $323 million to $327 million per team, marking a projected increase of roughly $22 million to $26 million (an 7% to 8.5% jump) over the 2026 base cap of $301.2 million.
Plus 59 million that is available right now in 2027.
The cap experts on the team can make it work

Not a bad take. I'm a big believer in seeing a coach make do with what he has. Good coaching elevates players. Every team is full of average players, so it's the coaching staff's job to get the most out of them. Great players are great regardless of where they go. It's the average guys who make the overall biggest difference.rich72 wrote: Wed Aug 19, 2026 6:55 pm Rob Leonard cant even use what he has right now, he needs to prove himself with what we got first before bringing in anymore high priced players.

Von Miller won a superbowl MVP as a pass rusher. Myles Garrett, TJ Watt and Maxx have played with absolutely shit quarterbacks.
Now I do think theres an argument to be made that building an all around high performing defensive line as opposed to paying one or two guys a ton of money leads to more team success. One way to do this may be playing rookie contract edge and using more money inside. The fact is any one DT or DE, no matter how dominant, isnt going to have a huge overall impact on wins and losses.
JJ Watt may have had the most dominant five year run of any defebsive player in history as a DT. His team had a couple pretty good years but they still didnt win anything and they had 2-14 season in there.
